What You’ll Receive

You will receive one live Purple Rex Begonia starter plant, carefully selected and prepared for shipment.

Because this is a living plant, the exact number, size, shape, and coloration of the leaves will naturally vary. Younger plants may also develop stronger coloration and more elaborate patterns as they mature under proper growing conditions.

Great For

Purple Rex Begonia is an excellent choice for houseplant collectors, colorful foliage displays, small-space gardening, decorative planters, shaded indoor plant collections, and anyone looking for a plant with dramatic color without requiring flowers.

Care Tips

Place your Rex Begonia in bright, indirect light. Avoid intense direct afternoon sun, which can scorch its delicate foliage. Better light generally encourages stronger coloration, although direct sun should still be avoided.

Water when the upper portion of the potting mix begins to dry. Rex Begonias prefer lightly moist soil but should never remain waterlogged. Good drainage is especially important because consistently saturated soil can damage the roots and rhizomes.

Keep the plant in a warm location with moderate to high humidity and good air circulation. Avoid allowing the leaves to remain constantly wet.

Important Information

Rex Begonias can be sensitive to sudden environmental changes. Some temporary leaf drooping or loss may occur following shipping, repotting, or relocation while the plant adjusts to its new environment.

Live Plant Disclaimer: Each plant is naturally unique. Photographs represent the variety and general appearance of the plant you will receive but do not represent the exact individual plant. Leaf coloration, markings, size, and growth habit can vary.

Pet & Household Warning: Begonias contain calcium oxalates and should not be eaten. Keep this plant away from pets and small children who may chew or ingest plant material.
